Your Job

We are seeking an experienced International Commerce Director to join our team at The Equipment, Technology, and Services group of Koch Engineered Solutions. In this role, your primary objective will be to be accountable for our international commerce profitability and to originate structures and alternatives to improve business profitability. This includes identifying opportunities in the international trade sector, developing a strategic perspective, and upgrading KES's trade flow and global manufacturing footprint. You will play a pivotal role in blending international commerce with the business and logistics, driving effective outcomes.

This position will be in Wichita, KS or Hybrid with some in office presence in any of the following locations: Tulsa, OK, Houston, TX, or Chicago, IL, and is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

Our Team

You will lead a dedicated international commerce team, working in conjunction with global supply chain, strategic business development, and other enterprise capabilities to execute KES's trade strategy effectively.

What You Will Do

* Developing a long-term international trade strategy and point of view that aligns with the overall business objectives.
* Partnering with and effectively managing existing trade execution capability to maximize their potential and achieve desired outcomes.
* Leveraging knowledge and expertise from within Koch Industries enterprises, and external sources to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
* Collaborating with key business functions to develop profitable trade processes to reduce waste and increase compliance.
* Engaging internal and external stakeholders to define, manage and communicate trade compliance key performance indicators.
* Initiate, coordinate, and lead cross-functional projects (including business development, commercial, manufacturing, logistics) to accomplish core international trade objectives.
* Developing and maintain trade compliance procedures, reports, and metrics.
* Identifying cost savings opportunities, develop and implement duty relief programs such as Free Trade Agreements, Duty Drawback, etc.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Bachelor's degree
* 5 years or more experience managing customs brokers and other 3rd party trade-related service providers
* Demonstrated proficiency in organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization
* Experience in setting up Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ)
* Maquiladora experience
* Understanding of US import and export declaration processes and requirements


What Will Put You Ahead

* Master's degree or higher
* 10 years or greater experience managing customs brokers and other 3rd party trade related service providers
* US Customs Broker License * Understanding of Canadian import and export declaration processes and requirements
* Experience in international trade with a working knowledge of import/export regulations
* Experience in steel and/or stainless market analysis and strategic sourcing
