Overview

We are looking for a Material Handling/Inventory Analyst to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader in technology. The Material Handling Associate is responsible for coordinating material transactions to support in-house manufacturing and customer orders. This is a team-based role, in a respectful and culturally diverse workplace. The environment is safety conscious as well as temperature and humidity controlled.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Morton, IL.

Responsibilities

As our Material Handling/Inventory Analyst, you will:

    Receive and store raw materials and finished goods from suppliers
  • Lead incoming material inspections to ensure quality of materials
  • Create supplier defect reports and supplier corrective action requests
  • Pick, transfer and setup materials for production jobs and customer orders
  • Ensure stock inventory levels are maintained to adequately meet operational needs
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by performing physical counts, investigating, and resolving inventory discrepancies
  • Responsible for coordinating vendor managed inventory activities and replenishing KANBAN
  • De-trash and dispose of boxes and other packaging
  • Constantly seek and implement continuous improvements using Lean methodologies
Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in material handling, preferably in a production environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision
  • Able to interact effectively with office staff and senior management

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience and use of ERP and visual manufacturing processes and systems
  • Experience in cycle counting and investigation of variances
  • Lean warehouse and materials management experience
  • Knowledge of supplier quality and supplier corrective action processes
