Position Description

The Production Manager is a manager who oversees daily production processes to ensure they are on schedule and enhance efficiencies. They are responsible for consistently finding ways to maintain and improve production processes and structures. Production Managers will also collaborate with other departments and team members to set goals for the production team. The Production Manager has oversight and responsibility for all Operations, ISE and CI work that happens in the facility.

The Production Manager has direct supervision over all Production Supervisors and Industrial Systems Engineers as well as Plant Fabrication. The Production Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Manager's key responsibilities include but is not limited to:

  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep our workplace accident-free.
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
  • Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team using Daily Management
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff
  • Providing daily supervision and direction to all Continuous Improvement activity in the plant
  • Leading 5S and Organizational Programs
  • Ensure compliance with all ISO 9001 standards in Operations.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred.
  • 5-7 years minimum experience in Manufacturing Operations Supervision required.
  • Project management; History of successful development and management of project plans for a product launch.
  • Experience in metal fabricating, forming, and joining technologies - preferred experience in plant product materials and core joining processing - brazing, welding, etc.
  • Working knowledge of labor standards.
  • Experience conforming to ISO9001 requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CI tools and approaches (lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, problem solving, Kanban, process mapping, etc.)
  • ERP software experience, SAP preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Products i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook required.
