What You'll Do

The day starts with communication meetings, reviewing team performances and training of new personnel. Performs some entries in Paycom system for downtime and transfers and responsible for maintaining morale and discipline in the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigns batch work to sorters.
  • Ensures priority batches are sorted by time designated.
  • Monitors workflow by communicating with other departments (Production Planning, Shipping, and VAS departments).
  • Balances workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Responds to equipment failures.
  • Researches and answers complex problems and missing or invalid totes
  • Orders supplies and maintains batteries.
  • Performs all job functions within the department as required.
  • Maintains attendance records and daily performance results.
  • Performs new employee orientation.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent and one to three years experience.
  • 10 key touch, typing, calculator, Exeter System (WMS and WCS), and e-mail skills. Skills in equipment failure resolution and battery maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
