Overview
The Site Logistics Technician position must provide leadership, operational expertise, technical, mechanical and hands-on assistance for safe and reliable operation of the Midland Latex plant.
The position will be located in our Midland, MI and report to the Site/Production Leader.
Responsibilities
Operate process-related equipment in a safe, environmentally responsible manner
Load product from storage tanks to trucks or railcars.
Package product in drums, totes, and sample containers.
Unload hazardous and non-hazardous raw materials received via rail and truck into storage tanks.
Unload packaged hazardous and non-hazardous raw materials into warehouse storage.
Load waste shipments into trucks for transport to disposal/recovery facilities
Complete laboratory analytical tests to verify product and raw material quality.
Interact with computer systems to operate the plant, process product shipments, and complete lab analysis.
Perform field checks and troubleshoot process equipment, routine equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Identify opportunities for improvement and make improvements when appropriate.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Strong computer skills are preferred, especially in Microsoft products.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and work in a team environment.
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to drive a fork truck will be required (training will be provided).
At least 2 years of prior operating experience or maintenance experience in a production facility is preferred
Prior experience in Site Logistics activities around liquid handling facilities is not required, but highly preferred
Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems like SAP or Oracle is preferred.
Quality management system knowledge and experience (LIMS preferred)
Familiar with Integrated Process Control Systems (like ABB, Honeywell, DeltaV, etc.) is preferred.
Basic Mechanical skills to troubleshoot pumps, automated valves, level transmitters and other basic instrumentation.
Must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 50 pounds. During periods of plant shutdown, prolonged walking, bending, and squatting are also required.
Must be able to work some type of rotating shift.
Must be able to work independently without a lot of supervision.
Must be able to wear a Full Face Respirator and be successfully fit tested.
