General Summary of Program

Agile Defense is seeking a Senior SQL Engineer/Developer to support the United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) military pay and personnel operations. On this project, you will help support the development, modernization, and sustainment of the Regional Level Application Software (RLAS) application and the Pay Management Division (PMD) data environment.
General Summary of Position

In this role, you will be working with a team to create a new shared data environment that integrates seamlessly with the A365 Environment and DoD Data Strategy. To accomplish this, you will provide programming, coding, and database development support to modernize and re-engineer automated and semi-automated business processes and the USAR Pay Management Division (PMD).

Duties
Implement SQL software features across all layers of the Microsoft technology stack. Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries. Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop relational databases and secondary databases. Identify inefficiencies in current databases. Develop and maintain database stored procedures, views, and functions for hosted web applications. Produce ad hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs. Create and maintain technical documentation; produces design artifacts such as class diagram and entity relationship diagrams, data dictionary, etc. Implement data dashboards to display data in differing formats. Participate in designing, maintaining, enhancing, and coding relational databases. Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development. Analyze and determine information needs and elements; data relationships and attributes; data flow and storage requirements; and data output and reporting capabilities. Coordinate new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure. Tests designed applications. Perform SQL performance tuning tasks.

Required Certifications
DoDI 8570 IAT II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE) upon starting.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
Master's Degree with 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 12 years experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
Possess a strong background and understanding of US Army Finance operations and experience writing complex, custom SQL logic to achieve required organizational outcomes. Must be able to tailor SQL development to support PMD's Mission of paying USAR Soldiers and Submissions to develop SQL solutions for all components of military pay. Capable of developing data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Ability to evaluate reusability of current data for additional analyses. Experience working in a data warehouse environment that includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Able to translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions. Defines, designs, and builds dimensional databases. Conducts data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data. Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
