Eagle Crest Camp

Position Title: Eagle Crest Camp Facility Maintenance & Grounds Keeper

Report To: Eagle Crest Camp Property & Operations Manager

Qualifications:

Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver's license.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Certifications: The Salvation Army's "Safe from Harm" Training

CPR/First Aid/ Blood borne Pathogens Training

Experience:

  • Two years' experience in exterior landscaping or buildings and grounds related position preferred.
  • Solid understanding and proven experiences with maintenance issues.

Skills:

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage several projects at one time.
  • Team player, self-started, and perform well with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of exterior landscaping and maintenance requirements.
  • Must have an interest and ability to work with people and clients of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and work as a cooperative team member.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using email, MS Office applications and using the internet.
  • Must be able to work Days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Especially in emergent situations.

Job Objective:

The position of ECC Maintenance & Grounds Keeper is designed to assist in properly maintaining the entire outdoors of the camp grounds owned by The Salvation Army Eagle Crest Camp and to maintain the camp buildings, inner operations systems, facility vehicles, tractors/mowers, and all other entities Property upkeep to a high level of function and appearance. This results in a clean and hygienic presentation, promoting to all renters and staff members clean and orderly facilities and operational components.

  • Maintain and enhance the camps landscaping as directed by ECC Property and Operations Manager.
  • Complete all work orders in a timely manner, as assigned by ECC Property and Operations Manager.
  • Assist the ECC Property and Operations Manager with routine maintenance on all camp facilities, tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance issues for all camp properties as directed by the Property and Operations Manager.
  • Maintain all regular maintenance needs on camp vehicles including trucks, tractors and all related equipment.
  • Ensure all corps properties are maintained in a clean, organized and safe manner at all times.
  • In coordination with the Property and Operations Manager, maintain and communicate all supplies inventory and advise when replenishment is necessary including the pickup and stock of such.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to property maintenance and grounds duties.

Position Ranking: Part time position, flexible hours.

Working Conditions:

This job is performed in both outdoor and office environments at various temperatures. The noise level in this work environment is usually low to loud. For some duties of this job, such as special events and outdoor activities, the employee will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually moderate to loud.
