Job Summary

Lab Monitor is a customer-service and asset protection position, providing a visible point of contact at the main computer lab at the State Farm Hall of Business.
The successful candidate must be timely, dependable, and communicate readily with others. Daily duties include:
- Assisting with printing in the main lab
- Basic software help
- Enforcing safety rules (e.g., mask rules, etc.)
- Tidying and contact surface cleaning (keyboards, mice, etc.) on a schedule
- Checking and reporting computers that need service
- Answering questions about the building (e.g., "Where is the advising department?" etc.)
- Other duties as assigned, such as reconfiguring classrooms or lab space.

Pay Rate

$14.00/hour

Required Qualifications

Timeliness, reliability, and communication skills are essential and required; teammates ending a shift often need to go to a class.

Work Hours

Lab hours are 7:45 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday, 7:45am to 4:30 pm Friday, closed Saturday. Weekday hours may run later if there are special circumstances.

Average of 5 -15 hours per week.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to work sitting down and do light physical work such as carrying 15 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.
