What You'll Do/ A Day in The Life Typically Includes

Responsible for inbound and outbound telephone sales of main format areas (print, digital, music, DVD, Value - Added Services and upsell other vendor partner solutions to prospective and existing Library customers in an assigned territory. Accountable for the overall performance of accounts and growth of the territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):

  • Responsible for new business growth in assigned territory.
  • Presents company programs, services and products to customers and potential customers via telephone in assigned territory.
  • Sells products and services to meet established sales objectives for territory.
  • Responsible for cross-selling and up-selling to increase customer orders to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Responsible for customer management activities, including order solicitation, account set-up, order processing.
  • Initiates, prepares and presents price quotes and proposals for services and programs.
  • Develops programs to increase sales.
  • Coordinates order entry and responsible for transitioning customer to electronic ordering where possible.

Territory covers New England states - Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally must stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of five years business experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PC proficiency. MS Office and PowerPoint skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and comprehend business processes.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
