Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing production environment brings with it an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieving operational excellence. This position must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance to the level of Secret.

The Planning Specialist IV will be responsible for the application and maintenance of available scheduling tools for assigned critical programs. This position is also responsible for the establishment of a baseline planning structure. This indivisual will prepare, maintain and present program status information for supervisory and Business Area management review.


Responsibilities

  • Develops plans and schedules for Operations activities on assigned critical programs.
  • Provides support to the Operations Program Manager in the development and maintenance of first unit flow plans and documents.
  • Confers with Operations Program Manager and program personnel to secure and coordinate information necessary for the development of manufacturing plans and schedules.
  • Assures that planning data items are properly maintained in Oracle, and are compatible with applicable program plans and schedules.
  • Analyzes various support data (computer reports, drawings, bills of material, lead times, fixed order quantities, etc.) to establish Master Demand and Manufacturing Kit Release schedules in support of contractual end item delivery requirements.
  • Generates appropriate documents to assure plans and schedules are properly input into the Oracle system.
  • Investigates the causes of schedule impacts and recommends corrective action(s).
  • Compiles monthly program summarizes and status packages.
  • Prepares charts, graphs and reports outlining program status against schedule for presentation to management.
  • Analyzes the complexity of proposed engineering changes to assess the impact on Operations activities.
  • Reviews various reports to ensure Company inventory & scheduling systems are accurate and properly maintained. Works with department management to facilitate the collection and analysis of data in support of various department performance measurement and metrics.
  • Coordinate with Configuration Management to keep plans and schedules compatible with product structure.
  • Attends Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and analyzes engineering change orders (ECO) activity to determine complexity and minimize cost and schedule impacts.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • HS Diploma and minimum 4 years' experience planning, production control/expediting, material planning, or material handling
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Associate Degree or Technical Certification, preferably a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system(s) (Oracle ERP)
  • Expert level Microsoft Office skills
  • Requires advanced skills to perform all standard and advanced tasks within the function.
  • Experience working in defense contracting or similar industry

Salary Range: Planning Specialist IV: $24.12 - $39.89 hourly. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
