As a Process Improvement Analyst II, you are responsible for implementing and developing a lean culture across the organization and supporting process improvement initiatives that result in improved process efficiency and profitability through the reduction of waste activities. Your role includes monitoring and observes existing and new processes for improvement opportunities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through lean problem-solving methodologies, tracking and reporting progress of improvements against established key performance indicators and metrics, and working closely with organization leadership across all functions to determine expected results and prioritize improvement efforts.

Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations.

We are looking for a Process Improvement Analyst II to lead Continuous Improvement projects across sectors. This person will have the opportunity to make a substantial impact on programs that are at the forefront of advancements in space destinations and applications. You'll play a critical role in optimizing the business processes behind the development of Dream Chaser Spaceplanes and beyond. You'll leverage strong interpersonal skills and competency in process effectiveness to develop new processes that cross multiple programs and departments horizontally as well as vertically. You'll also get to flex your analytical muscles through metrics and data analysis, and by dissecting existing processes, identifying gaps, bottlenecks and waste to drive impactful improvements across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects of varying sizes to develop new processes and improve upon existing processes.

  • Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities to maximize efficiency and effectiveness leveraging lean concepts.

  • Lead CI efforts on the Production Floor and in Receiving Inspection

  • Perform metrics and data analysis.

  • Develop reports through PowerBI

  • Support implementation of Cost of Poor Quality through time studies, process analyses, and system data capture definition

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study and typically three (3) or more years of work experience; higher level degree may substitute for experience.

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

  • Experience with continuous improvement and project management.

Preferred:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form strong, cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, team building, and leadership skills

  • Effective project management skills and experience

  • Understands and applies basic Lean principles, including but not limited to waste reduction, process mapping, problem solving, and root cause/corrective action fundamentals.

  • Data visualization and PowerBI experience

  • Proven success in driving action through metrics and KPIs

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$68,926.06 - $103,389.09

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
