Position Summary
The UIC Institute for Leadership Excellence and Development (iLEAD) is seeking a graduate student (Masters or Doctoral) to assist with research and assessment tasks. iLEAD, which is within UIC's College of Business, conducts research, programming, and assessment about leadership and people-related workplace issues. This graduate hourly worker will be hired for Fall 2024 and work at the graduate hourly pay rate. Employment may be extended beyond December of 2024, depending on graduation date and performance. The Candidate must be a graduate student and enrolled here at UIC.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with tasks related to research and assessments within iLEAD, including student data collections.
  • Maintain and update iLEAD database with survey results.
  • Build and generate customized reports using MS Access and VBA.
  • Manage iLEAD equipment inventory.
  • Liaise with other offices in obtaining student data relevant to iLEAD's work.
  • Meet regularly with the iLEAD team.
  • Additional duties also include programming and managing surveys using Qualtrics.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Thorough knowledge of database systems along with expertise in R/Python is a must.
    • Proven work experience with SQL, MS Access, VBA, Advanced Excel, database design and management.
    • Ability to work with MS Access reports.
    • Basic understanding of Qualtrics Enterprise Survey Platform.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, etc.
    • Basic understanding of IBM SPSS Statistics to perform data merging and manipulation.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Must currently be enrolled in a Graduate Program at UIC.
