Job Dimensions |
- General purpose: ensures that all company tractor trailers and equipment are properly maintained and performs repairs on trailers and other equipment in the ArrMaz fleet.

Activities |
- Work closely with fleet manager to set maintenance and repair priorities
- Perform trailer brake service and inspections
- Repair and routine maintenance on trailers
- Minor repairs and periodic inspections on company owned equipment such as generators, man- lifts, forklifts, cranes, golf carts, etc.
- Perform stick and MIG welding on trailers and equipment such as fender braces, landing gear braces and ladder braces, golf carts, etc.
- Drive tractor trailers, yard dogs, forklifts and golf carts safely around the plant
- Daily upkeep duties required. May include sweeping, scraping with a squeegee, emptying trash, stocking supplies, etc.
- Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Comply and work within established safety guidelines
- Complete required annual training MSHA, OSHA and TIA (Tire Industry Association)
- Occasional travel required
- Respond to periodic emergency breakdown calls outside of normal working hours
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems with input from drivers
- Enter work orders into the system and other computer related tasks as necessary

Context and environment |
- Position based in Mulberry, Fl.
- Working environment is in a chemical manufacturing facility
- The job requires physical work that can involve routine lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, and standing for long hours
- Ability to work in an environment with no air conditioning year round
- Available for periodic emergency calls

Skills and abilities |
- Ability to diagnose problems on all types of equipment
- Ability to properly and safely use basic hand tools
- Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- General mechanical aptitude
- Understand brake service and inspection
- Knowledge of DOT regulations for proper inspection and maintenance required
- Knowledge of class 8 tires
- Ability to use a stick and MIG welder
- Ability to interact and communicate well with others orally and in written form
- Ability to test drive tractor trailers, forklift, golf carts and yard dogs preferred
- Ability to use a computer at a basic skill level

Qualifications/Experience required |
- A minimum of 3 years in a commercial motor carrier maintenance shop or similar facility
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC port card
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Need to provide own basic hand tools
