Due to our growth and success, we have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Engineer in our Chicago O'Hare office. This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and site engineering projects, along with construction inspection. Enjoy rewarding project challenges and an opportunity to become an important part of a well-established technical group.

To be considered for our Construction Engineer opportunity, we are seeking candidates who meet the following basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification desired, PE preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and designing transportation and/or municipal projects.
  • Experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Highway Technician Certifications preferred.
  • Experience with MicroStation software.

As a Construction Engineer, enjoy job duties that may include:

  • Assistant Resident Engineer/ Resident Engineer.
  • Construction inspection of IDOT, Tollway, county or municipal projects.
    • Assist in the field inspections of roadway and utility construction including sewer system, asphalt and concrete roadways.
    • Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt and aggregates.
    • Complete daily construction reports, manually or electronically.
    • Prepare As-Built drawings.
  • Design assistance on highway and site development improvements, including roadways, site grading, storm drainage, water main distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and other site utilities.
    • Preparation of local, state and federal permit applications.
    • Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications and quantities.
    • Other duties as assigned.
