The Indirect Tax Manager will play a critical role by supporting the annual and ongoing goals and objectives of the tax function. This individual will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Finance organization that values innovation and continuous growth. As a Manager, Indirect Tax, you will play a critical role in driving indirect tax compliance, strategy and analysis surrounding indirect tax types, and managing a professional team to communicate complex tax insights effectively. This position partners closely with senior leadership within the Tax team and others throughout CDW and offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's growth and success.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of tax professionals in administering the indirect tax compliance, audit, and accounting processes for our US legal entities.
  • Manage tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate filings of multiple tax types including sales/use tax, VAT, gross receipts, annual reports, property tax, unclaimed property, environmental fees, and business licenses.
  • Lead the corporate indirect tax audit defense team and support our positions both prospectively and during audit.
  • Propose and enable strategies for lessening the corporate tax burden for indirect taxes and its accounting impact.
  • Participate in a cross functional team on several technology transformation initiatives to ensure the needs of the indirect tax team are properly identified and implemented.
  • Provide guidance to the Indirect Tax team members and empower their professional development through building the bench for succession planning, growth, and scalability.
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement process improvement ideas to reduce cycle times and/or improve the quality of the data.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7 or more years of relevant indirect tax experience.
  • 1 or more years of progressive management/leadership experience. 3 or more years of progressive management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain impact of business or corporate strategy on tax liabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically, solve problems, and drive change.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coach coworkers and build high performing/highly engaged teams.
