Job Summary:

As a key member of the Product Development (PD) team, the Senior Manager of Product Development and Market Research will lead the content implementation for all aspects of the product development process for ADA Store products. This includes leading and managing external groups of vendors and freelance authors, editors and designers as well as design vendors. This position is responsible for content, page layout, product budgets and schedules, and will maintain 3-year product strategy and plan that includes identifying and developing new and revised books, e-books, brochures, apps and videos and other products as identified.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute product line strategy for patient education and professional resources
  • Develop new products to align with a print and digital publishing strategy
  • Oversee the product life cycle for assigned patient education and professional resource products to ensure strategic goals are met
  • Determine new and revised schedules and potential sales estimates and competitive pricing
  • Manage the ADA Store products and set ups that are required to populate the store, product descriptions, art postings and pricing
  • Research and develop multimedia and digital-based professional and patient education products
  • Manage app creation and web-hosting platform for patient education digital products
  • Create competitive analysis and do research to understand the market, competitive products, and pricing which is required for each new product launch
  • Create product descriptions and overviews for marketing and sales teams
  • Negotiate freelance and vendor contracts as needed to fulfill content and production needs
  • Make inventory adjustments as needed
  • Cultivate relationships with ADA members, staff and external experts who contribute to our content
  • Seek out potential authors and subject matter experts (SMEs)

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 8 years experience executing product plans according to schedule, analyzing market trends, and creating a variety of products that meet the needs of the customers
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and organization skills
  • Knowledge of aptitude in logical and analytical thinking, and business acumen
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization with patience, courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism
  • Ability to drive project activities
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Nice to Have:

  • Publishing experience
  • Knowledge of dentistry, the dental market or health care environments
  • Market research experience
  • Copy editing and proofreading experience
  • Graphic design or art direction skills
  • Training experience
  • Experience working with an association or similar group of constituents
  • Past work with a member database, experience developing business plans, and working with an e-catalog and e-commerce
