THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the CAIROX Unit Manager, the CAIROX Shift Supervisor will:

  • Manage all aspects of CAIROX operations, including supervision of production teams and control room operators, including overseeing day-to-day operations during shift to provide guidance, evaluate and communicate metrics and KPI's, and spearhead performance management.
  • Manage all aspects of Naplate mill, including operating and maintaining the unit. Supervises operator and provides support as needed.
  • Instill a safety-first approach to operations. Champion safety and environmental initiatives to improve operator awareness and understanding of plant regulatory commitments.
  • Initiate and execute root cause analysis (RCA) approaches to drive improvement and cost savings in every aspect of plant operation, including opportunities and failures.
  • Evaluate any training needs required for plant personnel. Train and audit plant operators on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain high quality control of all products shipped. Collaborate with Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP), plant operators, shippers, and lab personnel to deliver on-time deliveries that meet customer demands.
  • Investigate equipment failures to eliminate unplanned downtime. Ensure operators have proper troubleshooting skills and provide coaching as needed to enter efficient work requests. Manage contractor labor while on shift, and off shift on emergencies as needed, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate will be a self-motivated individual with good organization, communication, and mechanical skills. They will need to remain flexible in a continuously changing environment. Your credentials ideally include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher preferred, especially in a technical field such as chemistry.
  • Five to ten years of supervisory experience and chemical plant or laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Solid oral and written communication capabilities with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to navigate and influence a cross-functional organization; ability to lead/manage initiatives within the organization.
  • Ability to act independently, prioritize and influence others on a regular basis.
  • Experience with and/or formal training in Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Kaizen, and/or six sigma preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally between Naplate, LaSalle and Peru sites, as necessary
