A Brief Overview:
Be responsible for neuropsychological assessment of outpatients and inpatients referred through the Neurospsychology Service. Be personally involved in test administration, scoring, interpretation, and report writing, as well as occasional supervision of graduate students engaged in similar activities.

  • ongoing growth and development from participation in events such as workshops, in-service programs and departmental meetings
  • provide service based on physical, psychological, educational and related criteria, appropriate to the age and type of the patients/
  • customers served in their area
  • Supervision of graduate and practice psychology students carrying out neuropsychological evaluations, as appropriate
  • Administration, scoring and interpretation of neuropsychological testing materials
  • ongoing organization and maintenance of neuropsychological test data
  • attendance at and participation in specific teaching activities within the Evanston Hospital teaching programs in psychiatry and neurology
  • completion of quarterly logs of clinical, research and teaching activities
  • completion of quarterly evaluation forms regarding overall fellowship experience and Director supervision
  • provide clinical services for neuropsychological assessment referrals
  • collaborate in ongoing Neuropsychology Service research projects
  • give clinical assessment lectures to medical students and residents rotating through Department
  • initiate research projects under the supervision of the Director

What you will need:
  • PHD Clinical Psychology Required
  • Previous specialty training in clinical neuropsychology, some of which may be obtained through an APA accredited clinical psychology predoctoral internship.
  • Research training and experience allowing fairly independent research activity.
  • Wide variety of clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology practices.
  • Previous exposure to training and supervision of graduate students in psychology.
  • Clinical neuropsychological assessment skills, which allow a variety of neurological and psychiatric disorders and patients to be appropriately evaluated.
  • Ability to effectively engage patients, students and colleagues in the course of providing clinical, teaching and research activities.
  • No licensure or certification is required at the level of postdoctoral fellow; however, the individual should be one who will ultimately be able to qualify for Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
