The Teller Supervisor will assist in overseeing overall daily activities of teller staff including training, scheduling and maintaining records of vault and teller cash balances.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs normal teller duties when required
  • Assists tellers with difficult or unusual transactions
  • Assist in locating cash discrepancies
  • Assist with providing override authority as needed
  • Assists with teller balancing as needed
  • Assis with ordering daily supply of cash and counting incoming cash
  • Retail/Customer service duties
  • Assist with training tellers
  • Assist with supervision, scheduling and delegation of tellers
  • Assist with auditing teller drawers
  • Assist with auditing, balancing and replenishing ATM
  • Assists with ensuring all teller stations are properly stocked, secured and maintained
  • Maintains reports documenting cash outages, balances and daily cash recaps
  • Assists with timecard management of teller staff
  • Assists with the hiring, promotion, transfer and discipline decisions for teller staff
  • Assists with preparing performance evaluations, written warnings and other staff development processes for teller staff
  • Assists in monitoring compliance with polices and procedures of teller staff
  • Assists in ensuring teller staff are complying with and up to date on required training
  • Assists with distributing written and oral instructions and directives regarding teller operations, policies, procedures and bank updates to teller staff
  • Kindly greet all customers immediately upon entry to maintain a welcoming and helpful environment
  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding their balances, statements, general information, etc.
  • Ensure all customers have been fully assisted
  • Use integrated teller and customer data base software to verify customer information and answer questions they may have about their account
  • Assist and transfer customers to the correct department by using the employee/department directories
  • Adhere to dual control policies
  • Have in-depth knowledge of bank products and services
  • Knowledgeable of all regulatory standards
  • Complete all training and online testing requirements as assigned
  • Have knowledge of and uphold all bank policies and procedures
  • Maintain familiarity with the Bank polices and procedures related to this position including but not limited to Secrecy Act, OFAC, Check Cashing, and Teller Guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Computer Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point).
  • Experience using Web Teller and check imaging software preferred

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to perform duties independently with limited direct supervision

  • Ability to explain the benefits of bank products and services and answer customer questions regarding these products and services
  • Knowledge of financial institution regulations

  • Strong professional integrity in compliance with company policy, and ethical and legal standards
  • General knowledge of bank procedures and how they apply to other areas of banking

Attendance Requirements

Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start work. Employees are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours should be avoided.

Working Conditions:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours
  • Requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary
  • Requires the ability to hear, speak and/or signal people
  • Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and in English
  • Requires manual dexterity, typing, and the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
