Job Description

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is expanding it's safety team, and looking for individuals with prior experience in a security or safety role. These positions are responsible for providing safety and security in our Main Street, Decatur, Illinois, facility. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Completion of rounds to secure interior spaces of the building;
  • Monitoring of sensitive areas during times of high volume traffic;
  • Enforcement of smoking areas on the exterior of the building;
  • Assistance to emergency personnel as needed;
  • First responder to internal emergency codes;
  • Continuous monitoring of all floors for safety or security concerns;
  • Proper communication and collaboration amongst fellow safety team members and Heritage staff.

These full-time positions will work 35-40 hours each week, which may include afternoons, nights, and weekends.

Education and Experience Required

  • A high school diploma/equivalency documentation is required.
  • Applicants with prior security and/or safety experience are preferred.
  • Additional experience working with the mentally ill or substance using populations, using trauma informed methodologies, is highly recommended.
  • An individual with the ability to be firm, yet compassionate, is essential in this work environment.
  • A valid drivers' license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance is required of all Heritage staff.
