That's why we're looking for a dynamic Senior IT Asset Manager to be responsible for the execution of the long-term strategic management of the firm's IT Asset Management (ITAM) process. This position works directly with IT leadership to manages the lifecycle of the software and technology-related hardware assets within the organization. The role will manage the process for monitoring and recording of software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with firm business needs and vendor contracts

The successful candidate will demonstrate...

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or experience equivalent
  • 5+ years of ITAM experience, including strong knowledge of asset management principles and practices (including but not limited to acquisition, management, and disposal of assets; total life cycle costs of assets, asset hierarchies, complimentary bill of materials, etc.)
  • Experience with ITAM/ITSM software and tools. Service Now and SCCM experience is a plus
  • Experience reviewing and maintaining software licensing and maintenance agreements
  • Experience providing inventory control for assets

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...

  • Developing and maintaining policies, standards, processes, systems, and measurements that enable the organization to manage the IT Assets.
  • Participating in the design and development of procurement strategies to maintain technology spend across the organization
  • Developing and implementing procedures for tracking/auditing firm assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles
  • Participating in the purchase of software and hardware assets, including collaborating with IT teams to initiate and prepare purchase requisitions
  • For hardware assets:
    • Managing IT equipment, including documenting received equipment and facilitating the secure storage of those assets
    • Tracking asset utilization and ensuring assets not in use are recovered, inventoried, relocated, or disposed of in accordance with company policies and procedures. Conduct periodic inventory audits for assets
    • Partnering with IT teams to track hardware deployment and utilization, identifying opportunities for consolidation, virtualization, or decommissioning
    • Overseeing the movement of equipment between locations
    • Providing oversight and guidance for hardware destruction
  • For software assets:
    • Maintaining software licensing information in ITSM/ITAM system
    • Managing the purchase of software assets and software maintenance renewals with the guidance of stakeholders
    • Monitoring software licenses in accordance with needs of the firm
    • Provide expertise and guidance on software asset management best practices. Advise on licensing options, including perpetual licenses, subscription models, and volume licensing programs.
    • Implement strategies to optimize license usage and minimize license costs.
    • Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract reviews, and cost comparisons. Participate in negotiating favorable terms for new and existing software licensing agreements and contracts.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly asset reports or as requested.
  • Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures.
  • Participate in the tracking of asset cost and support long term planning and annual budget development.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement.
