Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Corporate Director-Inventory Control that will manage our North American Atkore Inventory Control Processes for both Manufacturing and Distribution Operations. This position will create a robust and sustainable inventory control program to include a comprehensive operational audit program that will be adopted by all Atkore facilities.

What you'll do:

  • Leveraging our Oracle/JDE ERP system, report, manage and control our Atkore Cycle Count Program for all inventory.
  • Implement a Cycle Count Program for Raw, WIP and Finished Goods.
  • Oversee the execution of Annual Physical Inventory Events coordinated by the operations in Atkore North American facilities.
  • Working with Atkore internal and external audit teams, perform Inventory Control process and accuracy audits at all locations on a scheduled basis.
  • Working with the Financial Shared Services Group, make recommendations as to Physical Inventory exemptions to the Atkore Chief Financial Officer.
  • Develop and conduct Inventory Control Training for North American team members
  • Serve as our SME for Inventory Control JDE modules and processes

What you'll bring:

  • 10 Years of Advanced Inventory Control Management Experience covering both Distribution as well as Manufacturing discplines.
  • 5 years of experience managing Inventory Control activities covering multiple sites
  • Experience coordinating, managing and reporting on Full Physical Inventory Events
  • Extensive experience interfacing with independent financial audit teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office. Comfortable working with very large files
  • Experience with mulitple ERP systems with an preferred emphasis with JDE
  • Bachelors degree preferred

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Have met with all five RDC Managers, toured their sites and have a working knowledge of their business needs
  • Toured manufacturing facilities in order to understand their current inventory practices
  • Have gained experience with current Cycle Count program structure, execution and reporting
  • Complete your Atkore immersion program

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Performed Inventory Control Process and Accuracy audits at multiple sites
  • Have interfaced with the JDE Milestone team to bring up Manufacturing sites on the cycle count program
  • Evaluated and made recommendations to CFO for FY23 Full Physical Inventory events at NA facilities
  • Partnered with manufacturing and distribution facilities on the execution of Full Physical Inventories at select Atkore Facilities
  • Provide Inventory Control training to Atkore NA operations team members
  • Develop and propose enhancements to current Cycle Count program, including reporting

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Developed and implemented a feedback loop on the adaptation of facilities adherence to Atkore's Cycle Count program to all JDE sites.
  • Implemented enhancements to current Atkore Cycle Count program in order to drive improved Cycle Count count results, reduce unplanned out of stocks in fulfillment processes and inventory integrity
  • Lean productivity improvement and quality initiatives in all aspect of the Inventory Control Program
  • Deploy an enhanced set of Inventory Control metrics which improve the utility and transparency of the Inventory Control Program
