Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Supervisor, Clinical Nursing - Central Triage
  • Location: Warrenville, Illinois
  • Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday

What you will need:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of clinical experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Required
  • CPR Certification Required

Preferred:

  • Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience


A Brief Overview:
Supervises clinical personnel activities in order to ensure high quality patient care, determines work priorities, prepares daily work assignments and approves overtime. Serves as resource person for clinic personnel in resolving operational and patient care problems and provides professional patient care as needed.

  • Understands the goals of the division and organization and can articulate to staff. Develops plans to meet goals.
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise and maintains competencies in assigned department.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities that reflect accountability and interdependence with each other and other departments. Collaborates with the department physician(s) and other healthcare team members to develop partnerships and provide quality care.
  • Fosters and actively participates in shared governance committees and activities. Supports and maintains the nursing model of care.
  • Maintains climate conducive to open, respectful, positive communication intra/inter departmentally.
  • Maintains positive dialog with clinical and non-clinical administration.
  • Mentors and coaches staff in the development of their capabilities and understanding of their role, utilizing concurrent feedback, and role modeling with leadership skills.
  • Accountable for coordinating the health care team's efforts in planning and implementing patient care across the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and support of managed care principles and policies. Facilities performance improvement.
  • Participates in supervision and evaluation of staff performance; feedback is constructive and fosters staff growth; maximizes productivity.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for outcome; fosters staff autonomy.
  • Facilitates critical thinking and clinical skills to optimize patient outcomes, patient experience and outcome management.
  • Supports and ensures that staff possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care by identifying physical, psychosocial and developmental needs and adapting interventions accordingly
  • Evaluates environmental factors for safety and adherence to regulatory agencies. Maintains safe and cost effective delivery.
