  • IL Pharmacy Technician License
  • 3 - 5 years' experience as a Pharmacy Tech
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in leadership or demonstration of growth in responsibilities within department or institution
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Well organized, conscientious, ability to work well with others.
  • Some pharmacy experience preferred. Financial management experience preferred.

Job Summary

The primary function of this job is to provide management and business support to Pharmacy Services leadership and staff regarding financial management, compliance, and operational functions of the 340 program including hospital, infusion centers, and retail pharmacy areas.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Assures that accounts receivable reconciliation is completed on an on-going and timely basis.
  • Follows-up with third parties for open A/R to obtain payment prior to being written off when possible
  • Processes all drug invoices in ERP - Workday and reconcile with Accounts Payable department
  • Reviews and analyzes revenue, 340b savings report, usage reports for purchasing and dispensing, drug formulary NDCs, and 340b accumulation and investigates and fixes discrepancies
  • Reviews expense requisitions for appropriateness
  • Prepares and distributes monthly workload, financial, and 340b audit reports
  • Reviews all third party payor contracts for appropriateness and financial benefit
  • Participates on the 340b Compliance Committee, assuring compliance with 340B program requirements of qualified patients, drugs, providers, vendors, payers, and locations
  • Works with vendors to assure that merchandising is completed properly and timely at each site
  • Maintains all required records for outpatient/ambulatory/infusion center pharmacy operations related to 340B
  • Takes part in Outpatient/Ambulatory department strategic planning and projects
  • Responsible for the security of the Pharmacy buying and TPA software systems and assigning/removing access to pharmacy employees
  • Responsible for reporting obtained through various software platforms to perform business analysis with recommendations
  • Participate in departmental training

KSA 1 Problem solving skills, time management, set priorities for various responsibilities. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, handle workload and special projects with many interruptions.

KSA 2 Maintain flexibility in meeting department needs. Consider all matters related to the department and the hospital confidential.

KSA 3 Ability to make independent decisions while taking into account the impact on department finances, workload and information systems. Professionalism, discretion and tact in dealing with personnel, hospital staff and outside suppliers and customers.
