Job Description

Summary:

  • Supervise students at practice, performances, rallies, competitions, community events, and school-sponsored trips.
  • Provide feedback to student choreography for various performances throughout the season.
  • Assist Varsity Head Coach with administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Develops positive and appropriate relationships with students and parents. Maintains open communication at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills with peers and students.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet basic IHSA standards, including possession of or ability to obtain Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License or show evidence of completion of the American Sports Education Program.
  • Experience in coaching, or participation at the collegiate or high school level.
  • Should have many years of experience and formal training in all dance genres especially hip hop and Poms.
  • Should have experience teaching and choreographing a large group of dancers and be able to create hip hop and pom dances for an advanced level dance team.
  • Must have a positive attitude and high energy.
  • Highly organized
  • Committed to improving athletes and dancers.

Time Commitment:
Season is Fall 2024 through Winter 2025
3:45-6:00pm Mon-Thursday

Some Fridays and weekend practices and competitions.
Must be able to attend all football and basketball games throughout the season as well as 4-5 8hr day dance competitions on weekends

June and July summer camp
4-day UDA summer camp at an Illinois college

Stipend/Category: E and F
Mininum Stipend- $5,539 and $4,770
