The DNA Infrastructure team is hiring for Senior Linux Systems Engineer.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer to join our DNA Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting Linux servers across all global regions. The primary focus of this role will be day-to-day operations, as well as supporting development and application-support teams. The candidate must have extensive experience with server and storage hardware, the Linux operating system, and automation with Python on SaltStack.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Design and implement Linux servers

  • Provide day-to-day support for Linux servers and storage systems

  • Collaborate with development and application-support teams to provide necessary resources and support.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts with Python on SaltStack to streamline server and storage administration tasks.

  • Continuously monitor, optimize and improve system performance, capacity and availability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of service delivery and performance.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to Linux server and storage environments.

  • Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in Linux technologies.

  • Periodically participate in an on-call rotation, providing out-of-hours support as needed.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Linux server and storage administration.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and hardware.

  • Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and storage technologies.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Willingness to travel periodically and meet with other team members/collaborators.

You'll really stand out with:

  • Proven experience with automation tools, specifically SaltStack and Python scripting.

  • Work experience within the financial industry.

  • Experience with Cloud technologies.

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $108,000-$178,200. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
