Job Description

Datadog continues to invest in its platform and suite of tools that enable technical teams to collaborate in real-time to improve the products and applications they all work on together. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer passionate about building collaboration tools to join the CoScreen team.

You'll be working as part of the Service Management & Automation Design Team, which is responsible for a suite of tools that help developers collaborate on incidents in their applications. For this role, you will work on the CoScreen, a video collaboration tool developers use for pair programming and incident resolution. You'll also lead design efforts to make the Datadog platform more collaborative, this means identifying key UX opportunities that bring technical teams together. This includes designing a web and native screen-sharing experience for developers to collaborate in real time.

You'll own your design work and help other designers understand your product area to shape a holistic view of development workflows to make software optimization and troubleshooting simpler and faster. You'll also act as a leader within the product design team, collaborating with other designers to improve their work and the whole team.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and Q/A engineers throughout the design process to ensure we are building the right product for our customers to succeed.
  • See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and ship products and features that make CoScreen and Datadog better.
  • Design for a native desktop application and an integrated platform experience that enables users to share multiple screens and collaborate in real-time.
  • Bring delight to our users through thoughtful interactions and UI affordances that create a distinct look and feel for CoScreen, and give our users real-time feedback.
  • Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions internally to your product team and to the whole company.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built and Q/A them before we ship.
  • Be the expert in your product area, mentoring designers on the team to do their best work.
Who You Are:
  • You have 5+ years of experience in digital product design
  • Your portfolio includes a proven track record of shipping design work in web and/or native applications
  • You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions
  • You have experience with advanced modern-day UX/UI tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch) and interactions and animation design tools (Framer, Protopie, Adobe After Effects, Webflow, Principle, etc.)
  • You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns
  • You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own
  • You are passionate about collaboration and encourage diverse perspectives across your team to participate in your design process
  • You want to work in a iterative, high-growth collaborative environment

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
