Maintenance Associate

Job Description Summary

Ability to read and interpret machine blue prints, schematics, and pneumatic diagrams. Understand and apply safe work practices working in Forge Shop environment when trouble shooting and repairing mechanical drives and systems. Experience with vertical stamping/forging presses and their electronic PLC's, die protection, tonnage monitors & process monitoring equipment. Past experience repairing Induction Heating Coils & Heat Treating.

Job Description

  • Understand and use Lockout/tag-out procedures
  • Properly use maintenance tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, torches, drill press, etc.)
  • Ability to operate maintenance lifting equipment (cranes, forklifts, man lifts, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain shop service equipment and fluid levels (compressors, cooling water coolant, lube, etc.)
  • Ability and knowledge to repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment
  • Ability to examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear
  • Ability to reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Perform advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform advanced hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform advanced pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform advanced fabrication operations
  • Assist with and/or perform in other advanced maintenance functions/activities as needed
  • Display willingness to learn and become proficient in advanced maintenance activities

Required Skills and Education

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Basic math skills. (i.e. addition and subtraction, working with decimals in both inches and metrics)
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong level of planning and organizational abilities
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Must show a willingness to demonstrate S4 principles in daily job duties
  • Must show attention to detail, maintain a productive demeanor, and have a willingness to take the extra steps needed to ensure the job is done correctly

PREFERRED:

  • 3-5 years of production operations experience, particularly in high volume manufacturing
  • Experience in automotive, forging, or similar industries
  • Operating knowledge of Plexus
  • Familiarity with a union environment
