Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor role encompasses the staffing, supervision, direction, training and evaluation of an assigned production team. Directs and controls multiple Warehouse Associates. This role is responsible of ensuring a safe and efficient warehouse department at all times. It is also an integral part of the plant manufacturing operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring that we meet plant OTA and cycle count goals, and ensure that production staging areas are managed and maintained.

Essential Functions

* Safely insures all phases of the department are being performed efficiently and effectively.

* Coordinates and administers all aspects of training for new hires as well as long term associates.

* Provides associates with guidance, training and communication regarding job requirements, all OSHA safety guidelines, ISO procedures & Avient rules/expectations.

* Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.

* Administers performance appraisals of Warehouse Associates. Establishes, communicates and provides timely feedback to assigned workforce on objectives, goals and expectations.

* Ensures efficient use of staffing by effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging the required coverage when necessary.

* Reviews and corrects information in E-Time for time-keeping of Warehouse Associates' hours.

* Ensures that attendance issues are reported and handled in accordance with the attendance policy.

* Coordinates all inbound and outbound orders.

* Responsible for the general condition of the warehouse, shipping/receiving areas and overall cleanliness. Inspects for any improper warehousing of inventory & insures the warehouse is neat and clean at all times.

* Manages warehouse supplies at proper inventory levels and insure all warehouse costs are meeting plan.

* Maintains open lines of communication with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance and Operations support groups to ensure OTA is met.

* Provides the highest level of customer service.

* Develops/maintains various warehouse productivity reports and audits.

* Monitors phone calls, voice mails, e-mails and other communications, providing professional communication in a timely manner.

* Monitors all warehouse activity for proper output, productivity, and safety processes (Trailer Entry)

* Manages all ISO procedures, documentation, and control of records, correct forms and training.

* Monitors forklift maintenance, safety, and training.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, problem solving techniques and conflict resolution skills.

* Must be able to write legibly to keep records and to correspond.

* Must have strong mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

* Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.

* Requires matching proficiency, including the ability to color match.

* Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use a wide variety of standard lab equipment including a scale, ovens, viscometers and the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, a calculator, telephone, fax, and photocopier.

Employees are required to wear mandatory PPE (8 to 12hrs per shift) which include:

    • Safety glasses
    • hearing protection
    • steel toe shoes/boots
    • specific gloves when performing specific tasks
    • face shield, or goggles, if required by work area or toxic materials

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and explosives. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
