Job Summary:

This position is part of the External Partnership team, is a key role in the support of several aspects of important extracurricular activities that enhance a student's law school experience. This individual is accountable for providing support, direction and thought leadership for the activities, production, and management of seven student-edited journals with a legacy of over 100 years of scholarship. In addition, this position will take a lead role in sponsorship coordination and revenue generation in excess of $500,000 for 30+ student organizations, other law school departments, and planned events to create meaningful programming and enhanced opportunities for firms, corporations, and others to interact with students, faculty, and staff. Serve as a resource across the Law School with expertise of firms, legal market and law firm needs and expectations of students. Working in collaboration with the Associate and Assistant Deans of Student Affairs, the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement, and Career Strategy, provide leadership and support of projects and initiatives to further develop and improve the student experience and their future career success.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $85,339 - $111,674 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Specific Responsibilities:

JOURNAL STRATEGIC DIRECTION & SUPPORT

* Work with seven-student-edited journal to produce both print and on-line scholarship journals, managing budgets, production.,

* Provide direction to student editors on all aspects including but not limited to, board management, student workflow, compliance with policies. Advise on situations of member and production challenges and other issues as they arise.

* Advise and support any new journal initiatives to degree necessary in support of overall law school objectives.

* Work with faculty advisors to assure adherence to author agreements, licensing, and copyright issues.

* Oversee compliance of journals and necessary reporting.

* Manage annual write-on process for prospective members.

* Manage annual provisional process for prospective members for provisional journals.

* Oversee activities of each journal's membership and provide support for symposia, meetings and other events.

* Create consistent process of for all journals which maximizes participation and supports the overall objectives of the Law School including an increase in diversity participation.

* Oversee website, troubleshoot and problem solve as needed.

SPONSORSHIP GENERATION & MANAGEMENT

* Direct and manage the Assistant Director in the solicitation process for 30+ student organizations in their outreach to generate revenue in support of student programing. Work with student leaders to creatively design attainable benefits that encourage relationship building and strong programming.

* Work closely with students as well as Career Strategy and Student Affairs teams to ideate and build creative programming which will leverage firm relationships and enhance student relationship building and career success.

* In conjunction with other law school departments, develop meaningful sponsorship opportunities to provide additional revenue, budget relief and stewardship of sponsors for the benefit of the school. Maintain expertise and advise on best practices for consistency across the Law School in outreach and solicitation.

* Build and/or maintain relationships with law firm sponsors including visits, presentations, and general development. Initiate and cultivate new relationships with firms and organizations including non-traditional relationships in support or broadening reach for students.

* Serve as primary liaison between Law School and sponsoring organizations. Participate in events involving sponsors as needed.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & STAFF SUPERVISION

* Responsible for management of department budget including generation of revenue for targets as determined by Asst. Dean.

* Direct and manage Assistant Director in tracking, collecting revenue, managing and processing expenses for efficient and effective financial management of department.

SUPPORT OF LAW SCHOOL EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIP STRATEGY

* Provide support on projects as needed to expand the priorities of the Asst. Dean and the strategy of the Law School.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree; or the equivalent in education, skills and experience required, JD, with journal experience preferred

* At least 10 years' experience leading a highly effective team

* Prior work experience in revenue generation, sponsorship, program management, , or related field

* Understanding of or prior work experience in Law Firm, Law School, or other relevant legal exposure

* Fiscal/budgetary experience

* Proven ability to develop working relationships across functional lines;

* Proven interpersonal and diplomacy skills;

* Understanding of DEI issues and concerns and ability to support students

* Superior judgment with proven ability to manage multigenerational constituencies

* Detail-orientation with strong organizational and problem-solving skills;

* Excellent ability to professionally present oneself, both verbally and in writing; ability to travel and attend programs and events in the evenings and weekends as necessary;

* Superior organization skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously against deadlines.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential issues develop solutions and oversee communications.

* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment.
