Description
The Manager Patient Safety reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
TheManager Patient Safetyis responsible for planning and coordinating the overall operations of the Patient Safety program for the assigned territories within NM in coordination with and at the direction of the Director of Risk and Patient Safety, NMHC. Coordinates and leads patient safety endeavors at the local site and assigned territories, and is primarily responsible for proactive patient safety surveillance, overseeing patient safety initiatives and/or adverse event follow-up improvements, and complying with patient safety related standards monitored by relevant external agencies. Periodic travel to other NM business unit sites is required.
This position will advance the use of patient safety strategies and high reliability to achieve key organizational goals in quality and patient safety. The Manager Patient Safety closely partners with NM administrative, physician, nursing, ancillary, and operational leadership at their local site, and with their respective Patient Safety Program Manager(s) at the assigned territories, to advance patient safety through the development and implementation of patient safety plans and strategies that facilitate the achievement of strategic organizational goals.
