The business unit thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components is one of the leading automotive suppliers and development partners for highly complex drivetrain technologies. Around 3,500 employees produce 27 million drivetrain components a year at ten locations in Germany, Liechtenstein, Hungary, China, USA, Brazil and Mexico. The product range mainly comprises assembled camshafts, valve train systems and rotor shafts for high-end combustion, hybrid and electric engines. Your responsibilities

The Controller serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is driven largely by deadlines and customer service. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:

The Controller is an essential role of the Finance function within thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components. This role directs and controls the organization's internal and external controlling policies and practices. The Controller has primary responsibility for overseeing the budgeting, controlling, costing and insurance activities for the organization.

Your profile

Key Deliverables:

  • Coordinate and maintain financial reporting/internal control system that will provide the management with the appropriate financial and operating information.
  • Coordinates and confers with the Management to establish our annual business plan and monthly forecasts to achieve the targets set forth by our organization.
  • Oversees cost center budgeting as part of annual budget process.
  • Monthly/Quarterly Reporting
    • SAP@Kons P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
    • Monthly MIS (Financial) reporting to Europe
    • Coordinates monthly close process for all financial activities
    • Other reporting as required.
  • Analyze of plan/forecast/actual deviations (e.g., volume, spending, sales, material cost variances, G&A, labor, NWC, Cash)
  • Support decision-making at all levels of the organization by providing information, analysis, and financial direction in areas of policy and planning.
  • Manage Product Costing process; instruct and train others in process to act as backup; ensure accurate completion.
  • Support financial reporting requirements for tax purposes (state filings support local and federal requirements through RHQ)
  • Ensure that all controlling activities are in accordance with Federal, State and Local and ThyssenKrupp guidelines.
  • Support audit activities as required.
  • Responsible for planning, coordination and financial reporting for capital investments and capitalized development, and depreciation.
  • Review travel expenses to be in accordance with the company's policy.
  • Oversees the Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Education: Minimum a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting/Controlling with a minimum 3 years' experience in controlling.
  • Experience: Must be business literate, able to communicate on a management level with multiple functions within the organization. Should be proficient of the following areas: US GAAP, IFRS, Product Cos Development, Manufacturing Cost Control, Internal Controls, Auditing, Treasury Functions, and Payroll Administration. Past leadership experience preferred.
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulation; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures; effectively speak in public and present information and respond to questions from all levels of personnel throughout the organization and external groups. Ability to speak German is preferred.
  • Technology: Microsoft Office, SAP
  • Travel: Occasional travel, up to 10% including international, required.
