Job Summary

All graduate assistants are required to enroll in a major ensemble appropriate to their applied area every semester they hold an assistantship. The ensemble placement will be determined by piano area faculty.

For this position, duties/responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
1. Performing as an Accompanist/Opera Coach.
2. Performing with large ensembles.
3. Other accompanying duties as needed in the School of Music.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$650.00 per full month

2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student in the School of Music at Illinois State University.

Graduate Assistantships for 2023-2024 in the School of Music at Illinois State University are worth at least $22,330.

Benefits include:
* a full tuition waiver worth up to $12,677 ($6338.50 per semester);
* a summer tuition waiver worth up to $3803;
* and a stipend of at least $5,850 per year.

You must be eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University and for the number of hours required for the position.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session. Please contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for guidance on visa restrictions on work hours. The University cannot grant exceptions to visa status rules/laws.
