Job Description
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Public Safety Dispatcher
  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital
  • Full Time
  • Hours: 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Friday - Tuesday (Weds/Thurs OFF)

What you will do:

  • Monitor Security Systems across Edward-Elmhurst Campus locations
  • Intake new alerts, monitor alerting systems
  • Dispatch appropriate support
  • Coding incoming alerts
  • Position will utilize critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, and respond quickly.

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED level of education
  • Minimum one year experience as a telephone operator or equivalent;
  • To be at least 21 yrs of age by date of hire.
  • Able to type at least 40 wpm.
  • Valid State of Illinois Drivers License
This position requires attaining and maintaining certification from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO); specifically, APCO's Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 certification, sixth edition within (12) months of employment.
