Position Summary:
Position Highlights:
* Number of beds on unit: 25
* Patient population: Surgical Care Unit- We are a Bariatric Center of Excellence , we care for a wide range of surgical procedures including colon resections, amputations, urology, plastics, and ENT procedures.
* Nurse to Patient ratio: Dayshift- 5 patients per nurse plus a charge nurse with no patients. Night shift 5/6 patients per nurse.
* Department culture and resources: Strong teamwork within the unit. Works closely with Springfield Clinic Residency Program.
* Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Wound vacs, NG tubes, Drains, complex surgical patients.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree
Individuals hired after August 1, 2013 must obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within (5) years of start date.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
