mdg is a marketing and PR agency with head, heart and a passion for what we do - delivering measurable results for association and event clients in diverse categories like education, healthcare, technology, energy, cupcakes, cheese curls and craft beer (we'll explain those last three later). With a 44-year track record of success, mdg was named a "Best Place to Work" by Meetings & Conventions magazine. We're now seeking a motivated marketing intern who is eager to learn and to contribute. This approximately 15-20 hour/week internship is located in our Washington DC office.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a working-level understanding of assigned clients
• Conduct research on clients' industries, audiences and competitors
• Proofread copy of client deliverables
• Create and update content calendars for social media
• Write and post social media content
• Track and report campaign performance to help identify if course corrections should be made to ensure client goals are achieved

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's degree program with an accredited university (preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, psychology or general business) OR graduate with a bachelor's degree in one of the above areas
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Superior communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues in a professional manner
