Position Overview

As a Vice President, Clean Water Origination, you will play an integral role in developing and commercializing clean water projects to advance Invenergy's business. The Vice President, Clean Water Origination, will manage the prospecting, market development, government relationships, and offtake for clean water projects, including seawater desalination, throughout the United States and potentially internationally. The role would be an ideal growth opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to build on existing experience in the water industry to help fuel the growth of one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial companies in the sustainability industry. This position is based in Chicago or Houston and requires up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities for clean water projects, build offtake and government support.
• Develop, build and manage relationships with strategic customers, distribution partners, local governments, and other stakeholders to build strong support for projects.
• Work with Invenergy's water development lead to identify development prospects, support site qualification, and development distribution strategies.
• Develop and communicate key value propositions to customers.
• Pursue government funding and work with government relations staff to advance the policy environment to support desalination.
• Lead financial and market analysis for the local markets to price and sell water.
• Lead business activities pertaining to water including strategic reviews with Invenergy Executive Committee, project strategy and commercial forecasting, and growth strategy.
• Manage project partners at the senior level.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree (engineering degrees preferred)
• 10+ years in the energy or water sectors with demonstrated expertise in water treatment
• Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
• Previous experience with local government engagement
• Strong public speaking and personal skills.
• Ability to write effective, concise reports.
• Collaborative team-player who will work with others to deliver
• Familiarity with project development, real estate development, transmission and power project engineering are advantageous.
• Valid drivers license
• Travel >25%
