Job Responsibilities:
The Manager, Advanced Dental Education provides the primary staff support for six (6) advanced dental education disciplines (endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, oral and maxillofacial surgery fellowship, periodontics, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics residency, and craniofacial and special care orthodontics fellowship) and their four (4) respective review committees; researches information and participates in implementing special projects; serves as a resource to the CODA Director in order to provide information to other agencies of the Association, Council on Dental Education and Licensure, Board of Trustees, and House of Delegates in matters related to advanced dental education, serves as liaison with the advanced dental sponsoring organizations regarding accreditation standards and other accreditation issues; and manages the Commission's accreditation documents of these disciplines. This position staffs several accreditation site visits each year and writes site visit reports. In addition, this position researches information and participates in the development of reports for the CODA. The manager is required to be trained annually in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance policies and procedures. The manager has access to protected health information (PHI) on site visits, in self-studies, and in progress reports.
Must Have:
Effective report writing; tracking details; managing large volumes of information
Effective communication with and management of groups and/or committees, experience working in a team environment
Evening and weekend work may be necessary while traveling for CODA site visits, to attend national meetings, and to participate in CODA or committee meetings, for example; 10-25% travel may be required.
