Venable LLP is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Technician to be responsible for the operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) systems, as well as backup support and monitoring of all firm offices' AV and VTC events.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
- Serving as an escalation point to the Service Desk staff in troubleshooting and resolving AV-related problems
- Assisting firm wide IT and AV Support teams with setups and serving as an escalation point to those teams
- Conducting AV equipment testing and assessments
- Monitoring workflow, Service Desk queues, external connection requests, and team escalations
- Acting as an onsite contact for vendors performing complex AV-related repairs
- Being a liaison to other firm departments for event support
The successful candidate will demonstrate...
- A minimum of three years' experience configuring and troubleshooting the following:
- Videoconference (VTC) codecs
- Conference room control systems (Crestron/Biamp)
- Audio and video components, including audio DSPs and analog and digital switchers
- Thorough knowledge of protocols and AV design, including signal flow, VLANs, H.323, H.264, SIP, WebRTC, and H.239 duo-video, video bridging and gateways, and applicable platforms, including WebEx, Zoom, Cisco Jabber, and Microsoft Teams
- Strong customer service and communication skills; including the ability to train non-technical users on technical systems and equipment
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment, coordinating workflow and multiple tickets/tasks
- The ability to frequently walk for up to 60% of work day
- The capability to push an equipment cart of approximately 50 pounds
- The ability to provide on-site support on emergency basis and respond to emergency calls
- The ability to travel to other firm offices for project or coverage support needs
Our business needs require the Audiovisual Technician to work onsite in our office a minimum of two days per week. We expect this requirement to increase over time as normal in-office work resumes.
