Job Description

The Guard l carries out detailed instructions and procedures primarily oriented to ensure that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered and reported to appropriate authority; and intervenes directly only in situations which require minimal action to safeguard property or persons.


***This is a part time position***

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


Patrols facility or stands post as instructed and serves as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions.
•Detects suspicious activities and watches for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the job site.
•Reports all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies as required.
•Responds to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms, such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response proceedings.
•Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
•Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
•Answers alarms and investigates disturbances.
•Circulates among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
•Patrols industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
•Escorts or drives motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection.
•Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
•Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and verbally evict violators from premises.
•Observes established safety procedures, rules and techniques, including wearing and using appropriate personal protection equipment.
•Performs duties and responsibilities, which are project specific.

Required Skills
 

•Must possess all skills necessary to ensure that employees provide service in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
•Must possess a minimum four years office administration duties experience and education can be substituted for experience.
•Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
