The Lurie Children’s Healthy Communities team is responsible for aligning the Medical Center’s clinical, research, education and advocacy expertise with its community health and outreach initiatives. This team provides oversight for the development and implementation of the Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy and partners with leaders across the Medical Center to work towards an overall goal of advancing health equity for youth and their families across Chicago.
The Sr. Epidemiologist oversees the data analyses and reporting needs of Lurie Children’s Healthy Communities consistent with the Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy, and provides hospital leaders and community partners reliable, digestible data related to child and adolescent health issues. They will help community partners utilize various data to advance health promotion and prevention efforts. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing and formatting relevant information and data visualizations for various audiences, including developing and organizing for dissemination via reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, data briefs, fact sheets, presentations, media/social media, and other online platforms and written publications. This position provides support to ensure success of Healthy Communities’ annual goals and Lurie Children’s community health strategy and organizational mission to improve the health and well-being of all children and adolescents.
