As we continue to embark on this journey, the Talent Acquisition team will focus on attracting talent to BZC, nurturing an exceptional candidate experience, optimizing our new ATS technology, strategically collaborating with hiring managers to accelerate the hiring process and actively engaging in community outreach to expand our relationships.

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist (Recruiter) will focus on sourcing, identifying and acquiring well qualified talent to fill a large volume of positions to timely and efficiently staff operations for all seasons.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. *Perform daily full-cycle recruitment activities with a sense of urgency for high-volume, hourly positions. Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation of recruitment activities, decisions and efforts in a timely manner. Partner with hiring managers throughout the process. Regularly monitor requisitioned staffing levels and update information timely; keep hiring managers and Director, Talent Acquisition & Compensation ("Director") informed of the status of recruitment activities. Assist with full-time and part-time recruitment as assigned.
  2. *Conduct and oversee post-offer follow-up including correspondence, completion of thorough background checks, arranging new hire orientation, pre-adverse/adverse letters, etc., and closeout activities. Assure all recruitment process checklist activities are complete, documented, and electronically submitted/filed, including updating Applicant Tracking System.
  3. *Regularly communicate/correspond with candidates to maintain high level of engagement, positive experience and keep informed throughout the recruitment process.
  4. *Prepare reports as requested. Maintain documentation, recordkeeping and reporting systems per established practices.
  5. *Actively participate in recruitment community outreach, attend job fairs and other related recruitment activities. Work closely with the Director and Talent Acquisition Team to maximize current sources and proactively research/identify new sources. Assist in developing and building a diverse candidate pipeline and executing strategies. Manage and support recruiting initiatives, projects, and activities as directed.
  6. *Assist Director in directing day-to-day operations of seasonal staffing activities. Function as subject matter expert and point person for seasonal/volume hiring operations.
  7. *Actively contribute toward improving recruiting metrics including cost per hire, time to fill, time to hire, candidate experience, quality of hire, hiring manager satisfaction, etc. Assist Director in reporting on metrics for seasonal/volume recruitment and maintaining customized reports for internal customers.
  8. Other related duties as assigned to achieve recruitment and department goals and objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or other relevant field or equivalent coursework in pertinent HR/recruitment topics or four years of relevant experience is required. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Five years of directly relevant recruitment experience with two years of experience directly related to high-volume recruitment or equivalent HR generalist experience in a similar environment, such as big box retail, food service/restaurant, hospitality or entertainment/leisure.
  • Ability to effectively source candidates through various recruitment strategies such as on-campus recruitment, job boards, community outreach, job fairs, advertising, professional networking, social media, etc.
  • Must be able to manage a high volume of work with accuracy, a keen sense of urgency, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Reliable, able to carry out duties with minimal supervision. Able to identify tasks to be completed and move forward independently without prompting.
  • Sound judgment, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Must be highly flexible and able to respond and adapt to changes and shifting priorities.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (or similar email/calendar systems). Experience using an Applicant Tracking System required.
  • Very strong customer service skills and focus. Team player with willingness to get involved and assume additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal, written and good listening skills). English fluency at a working professional proficiency.
  • Experience and/or ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience.
  • Valid driver's license required at time of hire. Illinois residents must possess a valid Illinois driver's license or obtain one within 90 days of hire. Valid out-of-state driver's license is required for out-of-state residents.

DESIRABLE/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other closely related field or equivalent eight years of relevant recruitment experience desirable.
  • Prior supervisory, team lead or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Multi-lingual ability and Spanish fluency a plus.

Must be proactive, persistent, helpful, and able to effectively fulfill managers' hiring needs with minimal supervision. Incumbent must enjoy a challenge, be passionate about his/her work, and have a commitment to excellence. Regular workweeks of 40-45 hours+, including some evenings and weekends. Must attend various recruitment and community outreach-related events within the greater Chicago metropolitan area and transport various recruitment collateral, materials, and related equipment. Some local travel required.
