Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a bright, energetic, and driven individual to serve as a Workday HCM Specialist in our Corporate System team. As a key member of the team, you will support the Workday product roadmap developments, also closely working with Workday team members and Workday end users by understanding business needs, and providing expert-level user support. In addition, you will support the rollout of Workday programs by creating user documentation and providing user training. You will play a critical part in our Workday supporting model. This role is based in Chicago, reporting to the Workday Configuration Owner.

Responsibilities:

  • Keeping current on new capabilities of Manager & Employee Engagement/Experience technologies, new functionality/features/capabilities of Workday, and market trends of good common practice of Workday user self-service.

  • Have an in-depth understanding of business processes related to specific areas of Workday, including an understanding of E2E Workday integration points.

  • Align with global process owners and lead discussions to arrive at decisions/conclusions related to future functionality and creative solutions.

  • Provide Workday support such as requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and training for day-to-day Workday HCM user self-service processes, including Requisition, Job Application, Hire, Job Changes, Personal Data Changes, Time Off, Time Tracking, Benefits, Resignation, etc.

  • Work with internal Morningstar teams, including the People & Culture and other Corporate System teams, to influence the Workday product roadmap, understanding and articulating business needs to drive and evaluate/set roadmap priorities.

  • Work closely with stakeholders and internal Workday team function owners to collaborate on Workday projects and enhancement activities.

  • Stay updated on current HR/Workday system trends and process best practices. Maintain visibility on Workday Community and local User Groups to keep abreast of new features, product defects, and advocate for desired enhancement. Communicate new incremental features and availability to stakeholders and power users.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent.

  • At least 2 years of experience providing Workday-specific end-user support.

  • At least 1 year experience with Workday configuration.

  • Experience across various Workday self-service processes, including Requisition, Job Application, Hire, Job Changes, Personal Data Changes, Time Off, Time Tracking, Benefits, Resignation, etc.

  • Good knowledge and experience for Workday integrations as a plus, including Workday integration systems, EIBs, core connectors, business process automations, etc.

  • Good understanding with Workday core functionality, including Security, Reporting, Integrations, Business Processes.

  • Good understanding of HR business functionalities, especially from manager and employee self-service perspective.

  • Agile and user centric thinking on product development. Capable of hosting process design workshops, demonstration, and end user training on Workday product.

  • Good project management skills/experience.

  • Familiarity with the agile development process.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills, including written and verbal communication.

  • Process-oriented, and experience with process improvement initiatives (LEAN a plus).
