Role Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant under limited supervision performs a variety of complicated general accounting, financial analysis and reporting activities, and other related duties in daily administration of the Sirva corporate accounting function. May lead and direct the work of a Staff Accountant.

What You'll Be Doing

30%

Prepares journal entries and completes related financial analyses as part of the month end financial close for SIRVA business units within the Americas Segment.

35%

Is responsible for the preparation of monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations, and the upload of recons into Policy IQ. Many of these reconciliations are complex and utilize multiple sources of supporting data.

15%

Is responsible for updating of complex financials models which are used to perform financial analyses and to record financial results for business units within the Americas

5%

Is responsible for internal and external reporting of key metrics for the Americas business units. Provides key data to finance to be used in the overall analyses of business unit performance, as well as reporting to external regulatory agencies.

Responsible for analyzing and compiling data to be used in making payments to domestic moving agents, customers, and statutory groups.

Fulfills data requests made by external auditors as part of the interim and annual audits performed by auditors in advance of issuance of SIRVA financial statements

Participates in other special accounting or analytical projects as required

Perform tasks in support of other SIRVA segments beyond the core Segment

What You Bring to Sirva

*Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting required

*3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance required

*Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the accounting field

*Good skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)

*Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

*Strong mathematical and analytical skills

*Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
