Duties and Responsibilities
The School of Communication (SOC) at Loyola University Chicago seeks a new Instructor or Professional in Residence for Advertising and Digital Design. We are seeking an experienced advertising practitioner who can teach creative strategies around current digital media practices and who will connect with Loyola's social justice mission to advance society in terms of diversity, inclusion, and equity, environmental sustainability, and ethics.

This new colleague will teach in the Advertising/PR and Ad Creative undergraduate programs as well as in the new graduate-level Digital Advertising, MS, the Global Strategic Communication, MS and Digital Media & Storytelling programs.

Candidates should have a strong background in creative work in advertising with cutting-edge and inclusive experiences, specifically in areas such as digital interactive design, virtual reality and augmented reality design. Experience with generative AI content design and AIGC prompt engineering, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud applications or related design tools is expected. Ideal candidates will be comfortable delivering course content that includes advertising strategy, design and implementation, and portfolio courses.

The School of Communication serves close to 800 graduate and undergraduate students, offers a Center for Digital Ethics and Policy with annual symposia, a popular radio station, a state-of-the-art convergence studio and Chicago's first and only student-run communications agency. Our international faculty are distinguished by a mix of professional and academic achievement in the areas of journalism, advertising, public relations, film and digital media, game studies, advocacy, and communication studies. LUC has ranked in the Sierra Club's top five "Green Schools" and Princeton Review's top 50 Green Colleges over the last two decades.
