DevOps Architect is a hands-on DevOps / CI/CD role to manage and execute the Releases and Salesforce Deployments. You'll also provide subject matter expertise across technologies and practices to meet customer requirements for rapid service delivery, reliability and innovation. The role works collaboratively with key stakeholders, vendor representatives, other IT teams / experts to manage releases and execute Salesforce deployments in a fast pace, innovative environment.

The DevOps Architect is responsible for the design and delivery of continuous integration / continuous delivery processes, practices, and platforms across a hybrid delivery practice of Agile and Waterfall projects using Salesforce.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, define, design and implement DevOps architectures for clients

  • Review existing client DevOps strategies and provide recommendations for improvements

  • Deploy releases to various environments and perform Hotfixes and Rollbacks as needed

  • Write build scripts & pipelines to implement end-to-end build and deployment orchestration.

  • Verify successful continuous delivery deployments

  • Define and implement branching strategies to support parallel software development

  • Review continuous delivery validation builds for failures and resolve deployment issues with Development & Configuration teams

  • Advanced GIT skills move development and configuration work between version control branches

  • Lead, mentor, and provide direction to a delivery team of consultants

  • Establish strategic roadmaps for successful implementation starting from onboarding to delivery and maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience

  • Proven experience managing system changes without interruption to the user

  • Hands-on experience with implementing DevOps CI/CD pipelines in various environments

  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as source control, build, and automation

  • Experience with multiple DevOps technologies (ex. AWS)

  • Understanding of the Agile SDLC and how DevOps play a role in it

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexibility to work outside of business hours as a release schedule requires


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the Salesforce platform and a deep understanding of the architecture of Salesforce metadata and configuration

  • Deep understanding of DevOps best practices and modern CI/CD design principles within an Agile environment.

  • Deep understanding of scratch orgs & proficient working with implementing package-based deployments in Salesforce.

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Copado, Flosum or other CI/CD tools

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $151,800 to $208,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
