Job Description

Belvidere is a manufacturing facility of appx. 700 employees serving the Snacks Operating Unit and North America Foodservice(NAF) Segment. We operate in a dynamic business environment, with a rich history of performance, innovation and renovation. Recently, we added Natural bars and Fruit by the Foot production into our portfolio after divesting Green Giant, which concluded over 120 years of vegetable growing and manufacturing. We are continuing to evolve to a more complex product portfolio to meet the changing needs of our consumers and customers (organic, non-GMO, new packing formats). We also have, Direct Product Ship (DPS) on site, serving our North American Foodservice customers with cereal. The Belvidere plant is a very strategic and critical plant to both the NAR and NAF Segments and continues to be a magnet for investment and growth.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Supervisor will provide manufacturing leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Operations Supervisor lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. This role is responsible for providing direction and support to a production team.

The home shift for this role is still being determined, it will be one of the two shifts below.

  • 5:30pm -6am, 3-2-2 schedule (3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on; off every other weekend - Friday - Sunday)

OR

  • 5:30pm-6am on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesda and 5:30pm - 12am on Wednesdays

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing work group to achieve required production results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
  • Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards for quality, sanitation, and safety
  • Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues
  • Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant objectives on a day to day basis
  • Facilitate, coach, counsel, and guide the manufacturing work group to ensure that they have the ability to deliver results year over year through the use of continuous improvement tools and strategies
  • Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements
  • Facilitate the effective interchange of information between work groups, cross-functional resources, and other members of the plant and corporate teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate team members and to help them develop pride and ownership
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
  • Willingness to work weekends or alternative shifts as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years manufacturing or related experience
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
  • Experience successfully leading projects or other large improvement plan initiatives is preferred

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $67300.00 - $101200.00 / Annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
