Description

This position is responsible for the medical care of the clinic patients as outlined in the collaborative agreement.

Examples of Duties

I. Administration 0%
II. Teaching 5%

1. Establish a model of professional cooperation regarding practice responsibilities
between family physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other
learners.
2. Partner with Faculty in a learning environment on the treatment of Decatur Family
Medicine patients.
3. Teach and evaluate residents and other learners.
4. Collaborate on research projects as needed.
III. Research 5%
1. Participates in clinical and educational research as assigned appropriate for position
in support of residents and faculty.
IV. Service (Patient Care) 90%
1. Provide clinical patient care.
2. To provide services specifically authorized by the collaborative agreement.
3. Adhere to the collaboration agreement.
4. Work with Faculty physicians and appropriate staff to support the implementation and
maintenance of clinical and academic programs.
5. Serve on committees as assigned by the Program Director and Medical Director
Required by FQHC:
6. Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.
7. Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified
as having no primary care physician.

Qualifications

1. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
2. Possess a current NCCPA certification as a Physician Assistant
3. Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
Accredited Program
4. Hold a current license in the State of Illinois as a Certified Physician Assistant
