We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Catering Coordinator on our Corporate Services team. This is a position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 5 days a week in the office.

As a Catering Coordinator, you will Coordinates the process of all catering and unique events to include room set up and maintain orderly kitchens. Monitors and maintains equipment in Open Market and Skyline Cafe. Assist in room reservations. Purchases all office/product supplies and maintains inventory of cafe equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Catering and Meeting Setup

  • Assist Catering Supervisor with all catering requests.
  • Collaborate with Catering Supervisor on meeting space set- up to accommodate catering, meeting, and audio-visual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety procedures.
  • Keep Catering Supervisor informed of catering and meeting space issues as they arise.
  • Monitor inventory and maintenance of meeting space and catering equipment.
  • Attend industry conferences to stay up to date on new trends in catering and meeting services.
  • Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of all shared spaces i.e.: breakrooms, cafe, meeting space, kitchens.
  • Responsible for ordering all office and meeting room supplies, keeping within budget.
  • Assist with approving conference room reservations and service forms.
  • Assist with AV systems shutdown during after hour events as needed.
  • Assist with all duties associated with Open Market Area.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school graduate required; Associate degree preferred.

2. Minimum 3 years catering experience required.

3. Experience with budget tracking required; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office/Teams (Adobe, Word, Excel, and Outlook) and zoom.

4. Experience using basic kitchen equipment preferred.

5. Food Service Manager certification preferred (if not certified, it is required that you complete and pass the test within 60 days of hire).

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including polished telephone style to communicate with guests and internal clients at all levels of management.

7. Ability to lift to thirty pounds.

8. Possess the ability to work independently and oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of performance and attention to detail.

9. Must be able to work overtime (both early and late) and weekends.
