  • Valid Illinois High School Professional Educator License with High School Life Science Endorsement
Application Deadline
  • This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted after March 11, 2024, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
Important Notes
  • This position is for the District's High School Summer School Program, which will be located at Central High School.
  • The first session runs Monday-Thursday from June 10,2024-June 27, 2024.
  • The second sesstion runs Monday-Thursday from July 1, 2024-July 18, 2024.
    • There will be no summer school held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 and Thursday, July 4, 2024. Instead, and additional day of summer school will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024 and Friday, July 5, 2024.
  • Student Contact Hours will be from 8:00 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Staff will be expected to be on duty (and will be paid) from 7:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Staff will also be paid for a staff meeting from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. each session (June 7, 2024 and June 21, 2024). Teachers teaching both sessions will only attend the 1-hour staff meeting on June 7, 2024.
  • Teachers will aslo be paid for three (3) hours of paid prep time at the beginning of each session, and from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. for grading and finalizing the session on the final day of each session (June 27, 2024 and July 18, 2024).
  • Please note that classes will only run if enrollment requirements are met, regardless of whether a position has been offered.
  • Teachers will be paid at the rate of $35.00/hour.
